I had written earlier in the week that I've been nominated for the 2009 XBIZ Awards GLBT Performer of the Year. CLICK HERE TO SEE FULL LIST
What I forgot to mention another piece of information. If Raging Stallion Exclusive Damien Crosse (Cuban) or myself (Dominican) win this award, we'd be the first Latino to win in that category. The XBIZ Awards had been around for 7 years and the GLBT Performer of the Year category was included in 2008 (won by Jake Deckard).
I think that is awesome and any type of representation for the Latino Community is highly important. Damien is such a cool cat, I'd be stoked if he won. Best of luck to every one. :)

What you should be asking is why it's taken so long for Xbiz to acknowledge the contributions of Latino performers. If the studios tried harder to cultivate men of color and stopped catering to the incredibly shrinking demographic known as the white male age 35-55, we'd see more diversity and this would hardly be earth-shattering news. That said, good luck.
